Potion Bar - PC Game Download

Just finished playing this & I recommend it to time management game fans.
It's a fun game, fast paced & keeps you on your toes but it's not too hard or stressful like some TM games can be. The story's interesting, albeit hard to follow if you don't really pay attention. It has a lot of references to supernatural beings, but even if you don't follow the story line it's still fun.

The game is very short though. Only about 25 levels, compared to the hundred plus of most other TM games. And it only has one default setting, so you can't test yourself on a harder setting when you've finished the game. From the end of the game though, it does seem like a sequel will follow. So hopefully we get another game soon.

The game is set in a magical bar, our heroine thinks she is going for a "normal" job but as the true owner of the bar has disappeared she ends up trapped there until she can find him with the help of the resident magical cat. Your job is to brew magic potions for your customers (witches, vampires, werewolves and the like), you take a flask of coloured liquid and heat it on a stove, then there are ingredients you can add to it and decorations for the side of the flask. Your customer will have a bubble with a picture of their order and if you are lucky will buy an amulet from you when they have finished their drink for extra gold - satisfied customers seem more likely to do this.

You start with two potion colours and brew others in a special hidden object level in each of the 5 bars, the hidden object level is nice and not ridiculously easy. There is also a mini-game at the end of each bar where you have to open the doors to be able to travel onwards, you do this by placing pieces into a gorgeous fantasy door, not always as easy as it sounds as some of the pieces are very small. There is a man appears to sell you upgrades every 2-3 levels, I'd recommend the special flasks and extra stove burners when they are available before any other upgrades. The story is not bad and serves to hold the game together and give you a reason why you are working in the bar. Graphics are lovely, my only complaints were the length of the game and the customers have catchphrases which can become a little repetitive towards the end of the game.
